Description

Gaia Project is a complex and strategic board game set in a vast, modular galaxy. Players lead one of fourteen unique alien factions, each with asymmetrical abilities, striving to terraform planets and expand their presence across the cosmos. The core gameplay revolves around a sophisticated resource management system, particularly the “power cycle” which allows players to generate and spend energy for various actions, including terraforming planets to match their faction’s biome, building structures (mines, trading posts, research labs, Planetary Institutes), and advancing along six distinct research tracks. The goal is to establish the most prosperous intergalactic empire by earning victory points through building, research advancements, terraforming, and fulfilling end-of-round and end-of-game scoring conditions, demanding meticulous long-term planning and adaptive strategy.

The Marco thinks:

This is a challenging game that demands plenty of strategic thinking and meticulous planning. Despite that, the turns aren’t excessively long, and you can cleverly use your opponents’ thinking time to plan your own next moves! There’s an incredible amount of ways you can evolve your civilization, which truly makes every game feel different. I absolutely love it!
